Mommy Meet Up by Pampers and Gymboree

Last Sunday, my husband Geoff and my baby Bella accompanied me to the Mommy Meet Up event organized by Pampers and Gymboree in Glorietta 5. It was a rainy and gloomy afternoon but the event venue was bursting with a happy and playful vibe.

Upon arriving at the venue, I immediately spotted the Gymboree Play Area. Seeing it made me very excited as it was really my plan to bring Bella to a Gymboree branch, now that she is one year old, in order for her to try out some of their classes.

Thus, right after registration, we headed to the Gymboree Play Area and made Bella play. She had the play area by herself since we were one of the early ones to arrive.

The event proper was packed with activities for moms, dads and babies!

First event highlight: PARENTING TALK/PANEL

The event had a good roster of mom guests namely Dr. Ting Valdepeñas-Family Psychologist Michelle Alignay, Celebrity Mom Say Alonzo, Career Coach Teresa Dumadag, and Host/Radio DJ Andi Manzano.

Here are my key takeaways from the talks/panel:

1. Consistency is key in instilling discipline.

2. Babies are different from each other. Do not compare milestones. Do not stress over it.

3. Taking care of oneself is essential. Do not feel guilty when you spend some time for "me time."

Aside from the talks, what I liked the most was the actual mom meet up where I got to be with fellow first time moms and mom bloggers.

Second event highlight: GYMBOREE EXPERIENCE

I was so delighted that Bella's first ever Gymboree Experience was Gymboree's 40th Anniversary Celebration. It was a milestone that will forever be in Bella's book and we are happy to share it with Gymbo himself.

When we were told that the sample class for Bella is Parachute and Bubbles Playtime, I was clueless as regards what to expect. Thus, when the teachers began singing and laying the parachute and blowing bubbles, I was beyond thrilled. It was a very fun and relaxing experience to see kids as well as parents and nannies so amazed and happy.

With that very positive experience, my husband and I were convinced that a Gymboree visit for Bella is in order. We cannot wait to experience #playfullparenting again in Gymboree with our dear Bella.

Final event highlight: PAMPERS DRY PANTS EXPERIENCE

Mommy Andi Manzano was there to share with us her personal experience with Pampers Dry Pants. Baby Olivia was there too actively playing and moving around. She was encouraging us to #moveuptoPampersDryPants.

Here are the reasons they mentioned as to why we should we move up to Pampers Dry Pants (and my comments about it in italics)?:

a. Diaper-changing becomes more challenging when baby becomes more active.
Agree. Making my Bella lie down has always been a challenge. I had to do certain tricks just to keep her lying in bed so I could changer her diaper.

b. Playtime is vital to baby’s development that’s why we don’t want to interrupt baby during playtime even if there’s a need to change his/her diaper.
Agree. Everytime I interrupt Bella's playtime in order to change her diaper, I noticed that she loses her momentum or her focus on what she is doing. Sometimes, a happy playtime would end up to be a crying session because I had to stop her for nappy change.

c. Now with Pampers Baby Dry Pants, your baby can experience unbeatable dryness in easy-palit pants.
I definitely have to agree to this. Why? First because I witnessed it during the demonstration and second, because I experienced it myself during the event. I squeezed the liquid filled diaper intensely (I was really testing it) - and to my surprise, no leak came out. I was skeptic about it but there really was no leak, not even a tiny bit. The liquid spread out evenly and transformed into gel form.

Since I was being skeptic, I had to re-do the demonstration at home just to make sure and reconfirm what I saw. Hahahaha.

I carefully followed the 3 easy steps they did during the demonstration:

Step 1: STRETCH
It features and all-round stretchy waistband and flexible leg cuffs to make sure it fits the baby well.

Step 2: EASY TO PUT ON
I just had to put one leg at a time and pull-up. There is no need for my baby to lie down. Nappy change can be done while they are standing up playing.

Step 3: EASY TO TEAR OFF
I just had to tear off the sides and dispose.

(my additional step) Step 4: TEST for LEAK

And the RESULT:
Yes, it is easy to wear.
Yes, it has the right fit.
Yes, it is easy to remove.
Yes, yes, yes - no leaks!!! None at all.

Thus, the final VERDICT is YES - Bella and I will #moveuptoPampersDryPants (and we look forward to more, longer, uninterrupted playtime and sleeping time.)

So for moms who are using disposable diapers and have active toddlers, I invite you to #MoveUpToPampersPants. Try it, to believe! Simply follow the 3 easy steps and do the additional step to check if there are leaks. I am sure, you will also be convinced as it convinced me big time.
