Maintaining the upkeep of ones home is a tough challenge. But keeping the house clean is a non-negotiable task as no one would want to risk the health of family members. As you may very well know, when someone gets sick in the house, everyone is prone of acquiring it.

To keep our house clean all the time, my husband and I hired a helper and resorted to buying all sorts of cleaning gear such as the microfiber cleaning cloth, spin mop and the wet and dry vacuum. But aside from the visible dirt, we also had to deal with a scarier dirt that comes in invisible or hard-to-see forms like germs, bacteria, viruses even the dreadful mites. To protect ourselves from these kinds of dirt, we had to use anti-bacterial soap for our skin like Safeguard Wash and medicated gargle for germs in our mouth like the Betadine Oral Antiseptic. However, these are still not enough as we do not have any option to get rid of those enemies that live comfortably in our household surfaces. Since we have a toddler at home and a baby in tow, we had to let go of all those nasty chemical disinfectants that might pose harm to our health.

To be honest, we thought we would never be able to clean our home enough until we discovered the Deluxe Germ Terminator and Family Toothbrush Sterilizer which were given to me as gifts by UV Care.

As seen from its packaging, these products promise to do the following:

You may ask how? These products mainly use ultraviolet (UV) light to do wonders.

As described in the UV Care website:

"All products are guaranteed to use germicidal UV-C light without harmful ozone (O3) gas. UV-C is one of only few technologies that can kill 99.9% of invisible bacteria and viruses (including H1N1, E. Coli, MRSA) as well as mold, dust mites, fleas, bed bugs and their eggs."

"UVC light is germicidal – i.e., it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, germicidal UV light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. The formation of such bonds prevent the DNA from being unzipped for replication, and the organism is unable to reproduce. In fact, when the organism tries to replicate, it dies."

Do you remember how some people expose their beds, pillows, shoes under the sun to get rid of bad odor and mites? UV Care products do the same thing but in a more effective and efficient manner.

As first time users, we cannot help but be skeptical about UV Care. We looked for the dirtiest stuff/ areas in the house and started testing the products: the kitchen sponge, the play area and toys, the stinky rubber shoes, the sippy cup, the chopping board, the toothbrush, the bathroom curtain, the bed and pillows, the cellphone and laptop keyboard and the television remote control.

We do not know how many germs were on those things but it might be hundreds or thousands or millions. Thank God we do not see it but their presence were made felt with their external manifestations.

After our first germ zapping experience, we cannot gauge if it is really effective or not as we cannot see actual dead organisms. Was there a massacre of germs?

But the skepticism outweighed the benefits we physically felt:
No more weird smell or bad odor.
No more itch.
No more molds.

Sounds too good to be true, right? But yes, it is true and we actually experienced it.
The stinky shoes, chopping board and kitchen sponge are not smelly anymore.
The molds on the toothbrush,  bathroom curtain and sippy cup never came back.
The bed and play area do not cause any itch or skin irritations anymore.
If these microorganism were not killed, these may also be the source of diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, influenza, pneumonia, colds, measles, asthma, rhinitis, allergies, hand, foot and mouth disease to name a few. With UV Care products, cross contamination is reduced, air quality is improved and diseases are prevented within the home.

Aside from these, we also liked that UV Care products are:
Chemical-free
It is safe to use and is environmentally friendly.

Affordable
The UV Care Deluxe Germ Terminator is just PHP2,995 while the UV Care Family Toothbrush Sterlizer is just PHP2,500. If you want a smaller germ buster, the UV Care Pocket Sterilizer is just PHP1,200.

Portable
The three products mentioned above may be battery operated. It may be used anytime, anywhere and may be brought during travel. It is easy to operate and discreet to use.

With all these benefits, our entire household may say that UV Care products is a must-have in every home. Without UV Care, we can never "clean" enough our home despite regularly doing so. As UV Care puts it, "clean is not sterilized." There are a lot of things in our home that need special cleaning, some needs to be sterilized and the only way to do it in a fast and effective way is to use UV Care products.

Moving forward, in preparation for the coming of baby number two, we are eyeing to get their other products such as the UV Care Aircon Sterlizer, UV Care Portable Germ Zapper and the UV Care Multi-purpose Sterilizer.

Not convinced yet, try it in your own home and see its benefits. Aside from selling UV Care products, UV Care also offers home service for those people who want to experience it first or for those people who want a bigger area to be sanitized.

UV Care products may be purchased via their website at http://www.uvcare.net/.
